Contemporary Palestinian Realities & Rights
This course aims to provide learners with a deeper understanding of the history of Palestine and the Palestinian people, their contemporary realities and rights, and the frameworks through which their lived realities can be analysed and understood. The course aims to cover topics such as Palestinian history, the origins and evolution of Zionism, International Law and how it applies to Palestine/Israel and understanding Israeli apartheid.
We begin by taking a closer look at where Palestinians are today, while giving a brief overview of historical events and processes to help contextualise the current landscape of the Palestinian experience.
Dates and information were correct at the time of filming (2019). Since then, there have been some further developments, but all the material and resources remain useful and relevant.
