Lead Up to the Nakba (Online Mini Lecture)

As we approach the 77th year of the ongoing Palestinian Nakba, Makan will be holding an online mini lecture that will focus on the local and global context of the early 20th century to provide an understanding of the period leading up to the Nakba. The session will look at specifically:
- British imperialism’s role in paving the way for Zionist colonisation to begin in Palestine in the early 1920s
- Palestinian resistance to British and Zionist colonisation
- Understanding the Nakba as a process that began well before 1948 and continues to today
The session will include a 40 minute talk and a short Q&A.
