Settler Colonialism & Ecological Violence in Palestine (Online Mini-Series)

March 5 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Session 1: ‘Settler Colonialism & Ecological Violence in Palestine’
The first workshop of our Climate Justice online Mini-Series aims to deepen understanding of settler colonialism as the driver of land and natural resource destruction in Palestine. The workshop will expand how we think of violence,  and explore how settler colonialism both disrupts Indigenous people’s sovereignty over land as well as weaponises natural resources and ‘greenwashing’ to conceal settler violence. Through this, the session will provide a strong foundation for understanding and articulating ecological violence in Palestine.
  • These sessions prioritise interactivity and invites participants to engage in close reading of texts and images in group discussions, and are interspersed with lecturing.
  • This workshop is suitable for people who are involved in the climate justice movement and would like to learn more about how it applies to the context of Palestine, and/or for people who are involved in the Palestinian liberation movement and would like to learn more about how climate justice is central to it.
